Ready to get started? Read below for some great tips:
Open Up. Light and space in a room can make it feel fresh, new, and relaxing. Open your curtains and blinds for extra light, then get to making more space by removing clutter.
Visual space is as important as physical space, so take a look around the room. Does it look cluttered or full? Remove clutter, then remove anything you don’t love. This could include knick knacks, paintings, or other accessories.
Looking around a clean room can be a huge boost!
Shift Things Around. After decluttering, the next biggest change you can make is furniture movement. It can make you feel like you’re in a completely new space and open up options you may not have thought about.
Try shifting furniture in new directions and orienting everything in a new way. Also, don’t be afraid to move furniture between rooms. Maybe that bedside table you’ve been using is just what you need for an end table in your living room!
Add Some Color. Color is a huge change, but of the three, it’s a bit more work. Thankfully, there are some easy ways to get color in, too. To try:
- Paint a room.
- Paint an accent wall.
- Add a new area rug.
- Choose bright accessories.
Liven up your room with a mint green accent wall or add some orange decorative pillows to the mix. Color will make a big difference in the way you perceive your space!
